Integrating Operation Patterns In Papua, TNI Commander Forms Habema Koops
JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto formed the Habema Operations Command (Koops) to integrate the operational pattern of the TNI and Polri in dealing with conflicts in several areas in Papua.
Agus believes that Koops Habema, which stands for "must be maximal successful", can increase the effectiveness of handling conflicts in Papua, where in recent years there have been disruptions and attacks from OPM rebel groups.
"The strategy I apply (to Papua) is smart power, which is a combination of soft power and hard power, and military diplomacy. The implementation of this strategy is the establishment of the Habema Operations Command, which must be maximal successful. For its implementation, this Koops is expected to be able to integrate the operational pattern of the TNI and Polri; so that the handling of conflicts in Papua can be more effective," Agus said during the 2024 TNI-Polri Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at the TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 28, confiscated by Antara.
On a separate occasion, the Head of the Indonesian Armed Forces Information Center (Kapuspen) Maj. Gen. Nugraha Gumilar said that the new Habema Koops was formed recently. However, he did not mention the details of the formation date.
