Nova Arianto: Players Of The Selection Of The Indonesian U-16 National Team For The Second Wave Are More Promoting

JAKARTA - The selection process for the first phase of the U-16 Indonesian national team for the third wave was completed on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Field A, Senayan. Nova Arianto as the head coach has pocketed differences in each session which could be considered choosing the squad.

"Finally we were able to complete the first phase of selection from waves 1, 2, and 3. We can see their potential (players) and have received several players (matched) from waves 1, 2, and 3," said Nova Arianto after leading the exercise.

In the third wave of training, there were 34 players who attended out of a total of 98 people from all waves. Of all the sessions that have been undertaken, Nova said that there are differences in quality. According to him, players in the second wave have better individual qualities.

"I see that the second wave has better individual quality. Wave three also has several better players," said Nova Arianto.

"I said everything was quite evenly distributed, but wave two was more prominent," he said.

Although he has seen significant differences in each wave, Nova said that his party has not determined which players will be taken. There are many parameters that must be considered in order to find the figure according to his wishes.

"We are still seeing because there are many parameters that we are taking here. In choosing players, we have a team of several people."

"We will first look at the parameters. Later, from there we will create a rating. After that, it will be decided who will enter," he said.

Furthermore, the 45-year-old coach will again hold a second phase of selection at the end of March 2024 after the FIFA Matchday agenda. In the selection, he will call the players from the team who qualify for the last eight of the EPA (Elite Pro Academy).

"The plan is for March 2024. In April there will be a TC (train camp). So, we will call a total of 36 players," said Nova.

The selection of players from the U-16 Indonesian national team was held in preparation for the 2024 AFF U-16 Cup which will be held in Indonesia. The tournament is estimated to start in mid-2024.
