Indonesian Bawaslu Waits For Mutarlih To Decide On The Implementation Of Post Methods In Malaysia
Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja said his party was still waiting for the results of updating voter data (mutarlih) to determine whether the implementation of the post method in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, would still be held or not."The suggestion from some of my friends to eliminate the post method in Kuala Lumpur, yes, the consideration after this transfer has only been found out what the method is," said Bagja at the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) Building, Jakarta, Antara, Monday, February 26.Bagja also explained that his party would negotiate the elimination of the postal method with the General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia first."We have to update (the voter data), we just found the problem where it will be, because we are still negotiating with KPU friends," he said.In addition, Bagja said that his party would also consider the results of a search from his institution, as well as hearing the recommendations of the election supervisory committee (Panwaslu) in Kuala Lumpur."We will definitely consider one opinion or opinion of Kuala Lumpur's friends," he said.However, Bagja said that if the post method was removed, it would be diverted by selecting at polling stations (TPS) and mobile ballot boxes (KSK).Then, he continued, the overall person in charge was the Indonesian KPU.Meanwhile, Migrant CARE Staff Trisna Dwi Yuni Aresta said that her party recommended to the Indonesian Bawaslu to delete the post-based ballot voting method."This is our focus every year. From 2009, 2014, 2019. And now our recommendation to Bawaslu remains, namely the elimination of postal methods because the implementation is not transparent," said Trisna in Jakarta, Tuesday (20/2).Trisna explained that voters who use the post cannot track the ballot to be used are already where they are.The 2024 election includes the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD with a national voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.The 2024 election was attended by 18 national political parties, namely (according to the serial number) of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Gerindra Party, PDI Perjuangan, Golkar Party, Nasdem Party, Labor Party, and the Indonesian Gelora Party.Next, Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Partai Kebangkitan Nusantara (PKN), Partai Hanura, Partai Garuda, Partai Amanat Nasional (PAN), Partai Bulan Bintang (PBB), Partai Demokrat, Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), Partai Perindo, Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), and Partai Ummat.In addition, there are six local political parties as participants, namely the Aceh Nanggroe Party, the Atjeh Beusaboh Tha'at and Taqwa Generation Party, the Aceh Darul Party, the Aceh Aceh Party, the Aceh Prosperous Justice Party, and the Acehnese People's Independent Solidity Party.Meanwhile, the presidential and vice presidential elections were followed by three pairs, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. serial number 3.
According to KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022, the recapitulation of the 2024 General Election is scheduled to take place from February 15 to March 20, 2024.
