Harman assessed that the moment of shaking between the Chairman of the Democratic Party who is now Minister of ATR/BPR Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko was just a formality. It cannot be interpreted that the two of them now have a good relationship.It is known that Moeldoko some time ago was elected as the General Chair of the Democratic Party through the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) which was initiated by a number of senior party politicians bearing the mercy symbol. This step became a polemic because AHY was still legally leading."Yes, greetings of formality, shake hands without meaning, not meanful," said Benny at Bentara Budaya Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Monday, February 26.Benny assessed that Moeldoko should openly apologize to AHY and the Chairman of the Democratic Party's High Council Bambang Susilo Yudhoyono (SBY). Because shaking hands and throwing smiles are not enough."Pak Moeldoko must show a statesman's attitude, that what he did was wrong and it was not because of politics, but because of the law," said Benny."Therefore, in order for togetherness to be beautiful in the cabinet, Moeldoko should openly apologize to Pak SBY and Mas AHY," added the member of Commission III of the DPR RI.As previously reported, the moment of shaking between AHY and Moeldoko was recorded on the sidelines of a plenary cabinet session at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, February 26. This is the first meeting between AHY and Moeldoko after the internal chaos of the Democratic Party.
The chaos had continued to legal action and the Supreme Court (MA) rejected Moeldoko's appeal regarding the Democratic management on October 3, 2022. Moeldoko had submitted a review (PK), but was again rejected on August 10, 2023 so that AHY remained legally chairman.
