Kominfo Collaborates With The Indonesian Blockchain Association, This Is Upbit's Hope

The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) cooperates with the Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) in supporting the provision, utilization, and development of data, information and resources in the blockchain ecosystem in Indonesia, the development of standards and policies to facilitate industrial needs, increase public literacy related to blockchain technology, and various other collaborative programs.

The preparation of the Blockchain Technology Industry Ecosystem Map study in Indonesia has been carried out and this study was presented by Prof. Dr. Meyliana S.Kom., MM as Professor of the Binus University Information System in collaboration with ABI and Kominfo in a focus group discussion event entitled Blockchain Frontier: Navigating Challenges, Reinforcing Regulation and was held on February 20, 2024 with Upbit who co-hosted at the FGD event.

Upbit Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Putra Nugraha believes that this collaboration will make a significant contribution in understanding the dynamics of the local blockchain industry.

"We are very proud to be able to contribute and be a part of promoting sustainable innovation, and create wider opportunities for the growth of the blockchain technology ecosystem in Indonesia," he explained in his official statement Monday, February 26.

Putra said that with this collaboration, his party hopes that the study will become a solid foundation for adequate public policies so that they can protect from the security side based on blockchain and it is hoped that the government will further support the development of local projects.

"We also expect initiatives from the education sector that can direct the creation of jobs in the blockchain industry so that they can strengthen blockchain infrastructure by creating quality experts (developers)", said Putra.

In addition, Upbit Indonesia Chief Operation Officer Resna Raniadi added that her party also expects the opportunity to develop technology and investment in the blockchain industry to be expanded and facilitated from the government side as the regulator to be able to work together to strengthen the regulatory framework in the future.

Apart from the government side, it is hoped that at least it can attract attention from conventional ventures to be able to fund industries and blockchain projects that have great opportunities in the future.

Resna also welcomed the cooperation from Kominfo and also ABI with the full hope that ABI could facilitate relevant stakeholders as a fast and responsive connecting bridge in following the dynamics of progressive blockchain technology.
