Samsung Includes The Galaxy AI Feature In The One UI 6.1 Update

JAKARTA Samsung will launch One UI 6.1 in March. This operating system update (OS) will include nine Galaxy AI features that previously only existed in the Galaxy S24 series.

From the release that Samsung shared on Thursday, February 22, this Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature will be available in the Galaxy S23, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 series. This update will combine AI with the systemon-device and cloud-based.

Head of Mobile EXperience Business Samsung Electronics, TM Roh, said that this hybrid AI approach was carried out to pioneer the new AI era on mobile devices. The addition of this AI feature will increase the user experience on Galaxy devices.

"This is just the beginning of the Galaxy AI, because we plan to bring this experience to more than 100 million Galaxy users by 2024 and continue to innovate in how to take advantage of the possibility of an unlimited mobile AI," said Roh.

The first feature to be launched at One UI 6.1 is Chat Assist to launch communication. This feature can adjust message tones and translate messages from 13 languages. Users will also experience the Live Translate feature for real-time interactions.

Next, Samsung will add a Circle to Search feature. Exclusively, this feature is only available in the Galaxy S24 series and Google-made Pixel devices. This feature can quickly search for objects just by taking pictures and circleing objects.

Furthermore, the One UI 6.1 update will get the Note Assist feature to create a format, create a summary, and translate notes. There is also a Browse Assist feature to generate a summary of articles or news and the Transcript Assist feature to transcriminate meeting recordings.

Samsung will also include a Generative Edit feature to change or align objects in photos, the Edit Suggestion feature to speed up the editing process, and the Instant Slow-mo feature for slow video motion.
