Watch Bob Marley: One Love, Momonon: Reggae Rekat With Politics
JAKARTA - Momonon had the opportunity to witness the film Bob Marley: One Love first in the gala premiere. The band from Lebak was invited to represent one of Indonesia's reggae bands.
Tiga personel Momonon yang datang menonton, Tamim, Resha dan Omen menyebut film yang mereka saksikkan bukan hanya soal raggae sebagai genre musik, namun juga persoalan-pertoalan politik.
"Actually, it's not just the reggae network, what I caught was mostly about politics, how Bob Marley treated the people and fought for the people," Resha said, launching the celeb cam YouTube channel, Thursday, February 22.
Resha mentions what is shown through Bob Marley's film: One Love speaks clearly that reggae is not only talking about love, but is also close to political views and movements to defend the little people.
"Reggae music is not just love, not just talking about the beach, but also being attached to politics and defending the small people, like what Marley said earlier (in the film)," he said.
Meanwhile, Bob Marley: One Love tells the story of Bob Marley with his struggle for peace through music.
When Jamaica was busy with political conflicts in 1976, Marley decided to hold a concert in his country of birth for peace purposes. However, the decision resulted in him and his wife and several band members experiencing attempted murder.
