President Jokowi Inaugurates 27 Roads In South Sulawesi
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated 27 roads which are the Implementation of Regional Road Instruction (IJD) in South Sulawesi Province.
The inauguration was centered in Pangkajene and Islands (Pangkep) Regencies on Thursday, February 22.
"And by saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim this afternoon I inaugurate 27 sections of the Instruction of Regional Roads in South Sulawesi Province," Jokowi said in a written statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat as reported by ANTARA.
The President explained that in 2023, the central government had provided a budget of IDR 669 billion for South Sulawesi Province to build and repair 201 kilometers of roads in all districts and cities in the province.
"There are 27 roads that have been built and repaired, today it has been completed," he said.
Calling the budget allocation will continue to be improved, the President hopes that the construction of roads will provide many real benefits for the people of South Sulawesi.
"We hope that all roads throughout South Sulawesi Province can be smooth, smooth, will improve connectivity between regions and between provinces," he said.

One of the local residents, Indriyani, admitted that he was very grateful for the construction of the road. According to him, the road that was damaged and caused many casualties is now better.
"Alhamdulillah, it's good, it's clean, there are no more potholes. (Previously) it was severe, damaged until there were fatalities," said Indriyani.
Another resident, Syahrir, also felt the benefits of the existence of the road. He also expressed his appreciation to President Jokowi's government.
"On behalf of the local residents, I am very grateful for the Presidential Instruction. The program is that the people here, especially Pangkep, are very grateful for Pak Jokowi's program. We really enjoy and thank you for Pak Jokowi's 10 years," he said.
Also accompanying the President at the inauguration were Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Bahtiar Bahharuddin, and Regent of Pangkep Muhammad Yusran Lalogau.
