6,000 ASN Move To IKN Based On Development Priority

The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) stated that the first batch of state civil servants (ASN) transferred to the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) was 6,000 people because it was based on development priorities.

Deputy for Bureaucratic Reform, Accountability of Apparatus, and Supervision of Kemenpan RB, Erwan Agus Purwanto, said that the development priorities in question are priority sectors for the government in the next 5-10 years. So that the increase in the number of ASN transferred to IKN in the future will also adjust to the development priorities.

"There it will be mapped out where our ASN grows according to priority, which ones do not increase because it is according to priority," said Erwan in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 21, quoted by Antara.

Later, he said, development priorities would be based on the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), so that later what will be done by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) will be adjusted by the Kemenpan RB regarding ASN transfers.

According to him, IKN is not only built physically, but also built by considering smart government, so the performance of ASN in IKN will also be supported by ASN outside IKN in a hybrid manner.

"So going forward with a new way of working, it will use two ways, both physically and with a smart government platform," he said.

He said President Joko Widodo had previously issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 82 of 2023 concerning the acceleration of digital transformation and the integration of national digital services or later called "GovTech", to complement the performance of ASN.

Previously, Menpan RB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas said the number of ASN who would move to IKN had changed to 6,000 first because of the inadequate availability of places.

Anas said that currently in IKN there are only 47 towers, each containing 60 residential units for ASN, TNI/Polri, echelon I and others.

"The total was that 11,916 people moved, but because the buildings there were ready for 6,000 people, then 6,000 will move first," said Anas when giving an explanation at the 2024-2025 Trade Ministry Working Meeting in Semarang, Central Java, Tuesday, February 20.
