Had Stopped As A Result Of The KKB Shooting, Jayapura-Dekai Flight Operates Again

PAPUA - Jayapura-Dekai flights in Yahukimo Regency, Papua are operating again today, Tuesday, February 20.

Deputy Area Manager Trigana Irwan Rochendi confirmed that the Boeing 737-500 aircraft had returned to serve flights to Dekai with 120 passengers today.

"The route was served again after the management of Trigana Air Jakarta allowed the reopening of the Sentani flight -Dekai," said Irwan when contacted, Tuesday, February 20, was confiscated by Antara.

Flights to Dekai were stopped until Monday 19 February following the shooting case experienced by Wings Air aircraft on Saturday 17 February.

Jayapura-Dekai flights have also operated again on the security guarantee of law enforcement officers.

Sentani flights in Jayapura-Dekai which were taken about 30 minutes are now being served again every day.

"Hopefully there will be no more shooting cases against passenger planes flying to Dekai," said Irwan.

Previously, the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri admitted that the Papuan KKB shot a Wings Air plane that landed at Nopjad Dekai Airport, Saturday, February 17.

The shooting left a passenger injured as a result of being hit by debris.

"Currently members of the TNI-Polri are still pursuing the KKB group," said Mathius.
