PGN Salurkan Gas Bumi From JTB To The Glass Industry At KIT Batang
JAKARTA PT PGN (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) as Pertamina Gas Subholding supplies natural gas to a factory owned by KCC Glass Indonesia which produces sheet glass in the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KIT Batang).
PGN has completed the natural gas distribution infrastructure within the industrial area along 5 km from the Phase I Cisem Transmission Pipeline. Natural gas has also been able to flow to the industrial area since December 2023.
The distribution of gas to KCC Glass comes from the Jambaran Tiung Biru PEPC and this will increase the utilization of the Phase 1 Cisem Transmission pipeline.
"The government provides full support for energy access through the Cisem Pipeline as one of the National Strategic Projects. Then in the midst of global challenges, PGN's role becomes very crucial in providing gas supply and infrastructure for KCC Glass at KIT Batang," said Director of Oil and Gas Program Development KESDM Mustafid Gunawan, Tuesday, February 20.
Mustafid said, stable supply of natural gas is the key to entry for industry, especially KCC Glass. It is hoped that the availability of gas supply can support KCC Glass to grow its business and encourage the advancement of the glass industry in Indonesia, which has been closely related to PGN.
"We are grateful for the trust that KCC Glass has chosen PGN as a business partner in its production activities. KCC Glass requires a reliable and long term gas supply, so that it becomes potential for us as a captive market and we are also ready in terms of infrastructure," said the Director of Sales & Operations PGN, Ratih Esti Prihatini.
Ratih added that the distribution of natural gas to KCC Glass is a matter of pride for PGN, where PGN can provide support for the development of investment in the industrial sector in Central Java. PGN has also completed a Business License for gas distribution in the Batang Regency area.
