Central Sulawesi Police Investigate 3 Criminal Acts Of The 2024 Election
PALU - The Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda) are currently handling three cases of alleged criminal acts related to the 2024 General Election. "There are three police reports registered at the Integrated Police Service Center related to the 2024 General Election," said Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Police, Kombes Police Djoko Wienartono, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 20. He said the police report was made after the case was reported first to the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in each district and city. Djoko said the three cases allegedly of the 2024 Election crime occurred in Poso Regency, Tojo Una-una and Parigi Moutong (Parimo). He stated that the case of election crime in Poso Regency in terms of document forgery had been stopped in his investigation. "Because the original physical evidence was not found or what was there was printed from the application of the Candidate Information System (Silon) so that the forensic laboratory could not analyze the existing signatures," he said. He continued, for the case of election crime in Tojo Una-una Regency, the initial village head (kades) DH has been determined as a suspect for carrying out actions that could benefit or harm election participants during the campaign period. Djoko said this was done by distributing the calendar of candidates for the Central Sulawesi Provincial DPRD (caleg) on December 24, 2023. The suspect DH was charged with Article 490 of the Republic of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2017 with a maximum imprisonment of 1 year and a maximum fine of Rp12 million. The case is already P.21 and has been carried out stage II to the Public Prosecutor on February 12, 2024," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, the election crime occurred in Parimo Regency on January 8, 2024 with the local district DPRD candidate, the initials HA, allegedly violating Article 523 paragraph (1) Jo. article 280 letter J of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections when conducting face-to-face campaigns.
