Often Experienced Disturbances, KPU Guarantees Safe Sirekap Data In Indonesia
Commissioner of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Betty Epsilon Idroos responded to the many reports of the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap) which often experience server disruptions, he said that all data (Sirekap) for the 2024 General Election was stored safely in Indonesia.
"All Sirekap data is processed and stored in a data center in Indonesia, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," Betty Epsilon said in his statement, Monday, February 19.
Betty said that the disruption to the Sirekap system that occurred starting February 14, 2024, whose number increased, one of which was caused by distributed denial of service (DOS) disturbances, or known as servers, did not work efficiently.
"The KPU together with the cyber task force team continue to make efforts to deal with these disturbances even today," he said.

The KPU commissioner emphasized that he was grateful that there were no issues or reports of delays by his party to access Sirekap at once for the C1 plenary set in the form of an image.
However, he revealed that valid vote calculations will still be carried out in stages in accordance with KPU regulations, namely: PPLN on February 15-February 22, 2024, sub-district levels on February 15-March 2, 2024, district/city levels on February 17-5 March 2024, provincial levels on February 19-10 March 2024, and national levels on February 22-21 March 2024.
