The Office's BYOD Policy Makes Hacking Vulnerable, Here Are Tips To Stay Safe
JAKARTA - Applying the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy at the office could actually pose a lot of cyber threats, because employees' personal devices are unprotected.
"The main idea behind BYOD's proper security is that personal devices must be treated the same as company-owned devices," said Yeo Siang Tiong, General Manager for Southeast Asia in Kaspersky in a statement.
Similarly, laptops and smartphones used outside the company's environment must be protected as well as devices behind firewalls and network protection solutions in the office.
Therefore, Kaspersky called on organizations to make security policies that must be implemented on all devices, regardless of platform, and traditional business security suites are now unable to implement security rules and features for smartphones and tablets.
