Floods Gradually Recede, Demak-Kudus Pantura Route Opened Gradually
Demak Police Traffic Unit and Kudus Police Traffic Unit have begun to pave the path of the Pantura route connecting Demak-Kudus after the floods began to recede since last Sunday.
However, motorists are asked to be vigilant and motorists are diverted by other roads to anticipate a strike because there are still puddles as high as 30 centimeters.
The opening of the road is carried out to reduce long traffic jams on the alternative Demak-Jepara and Kudus-Jepara roads.
Even though it was opened, the police were still on standby at both points. Heavy vehicles with a triaxis for the time being are still being diverted to alternative roads via Jepara.
"It is feared that if we remove this three-axis vehicle or more, it will hamper and create current congestion. So now we only allow small and small vehicles," said KBO Kudus Police Traffic Unit, Iptu Nor Alifi, Monday, February 19.

Even though it has been opened, a number of inundation points have prompted the police to also conduct an evaluation. This is because the condition of the northern coast road is still dark and a number of residents' vehicles are still on the side of the road because settlements are still flooded up to 1 meter.
"We will conduct an evaluation analysis. Later, if it is found that there is a congestion density, we will divert it again," he explained.
