Gus Ipul Invites PKB To Return To NU's Food
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Saifullah Yusuf alias Gus Ipul invited the National Awakening Party (PKB) to return to the same lap and road as Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
"Back to the right path, namely the road that is in accordance with Nahdlatul Ulama," said Gus Ipul in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday.
KH Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur's nephew reminded that as a party that has been claiming that its party is a NU citizen, PKB should immediately return with NU by being able to accept whatever the election results are.
"PBNU has accepted and let us both respect the election results. If PKB claims to be NU's party, yes, let's cool the atmosphere together with PBNU," he said.
The former deputy governor of East Java said this is not the first time PKB has taken part in the election, so PKB must know exactly that the quick count is accurate.

He also reminded him to report immediately if there was a problem. However, Gus Ipul also reminded PKB to participate in maintaining the coolness of this democratic process.
According to him, the election is over so there is no need to drag on with the process.
Gus Ipul, who also served as Secretary General of PKB in the 2000s era, said that PBNU had also stated that the presidential election was running well and smoothly.
"(PKB) asks Rais Aam and the General Chair (PBNU) for advice on how the PKB steps will take in the future. If you realize that this party was founded by NU, it is appropriate for PKB to return to NU," he said.
Furthermore, Gus Ipul revealed that actually PKB is still trusted by NU residents, but the PKB decision in supporting presidential candidates is far from the expectations of ulama.
Gus Ipul emphasized that PBNU has never been hostile to PKB. It's just that PBNU regrets the elite political steps of PKB who have never listened to what ulama and kiai say.
The PKB took the wrong path, causing steps that confused the ulama, kiai, and also confused NU residents. It can be seen the results of this election. So, immediately return to the NU lap," he said.
