Two Districts In Cianjur Hit By Flash Floods, No Casualties
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, has completed the handling of floods that hit two sub-districts in Cianjur, where 32 heads of families (KK) had fled due to 1.2 meter flooding in the village.
The Head of BPBD Cianjur, Asep Sukma Wijaya when contacted on Sunday, said that the floods that hit Karangtengah and Gekbrong sub-districts caused high rainfall to increase the river's water discharge, so that overflowing recalled the village.
"There were no casualties, but from the two sub-districts it was recorded that dozens of families were displaced because the water had reduced houses by about 30 to 1.2 meters. The flood also caused three houses to be moderately damaged in Karangtengah District and dozens of others to be lightly damaged," Asep said as quoted by Antara.
His party immediately sent officers to the location to collect data and evacuate residents to a place that was considered safe from flooding because the incident in two sub-districts was almost the same on Saturday evening.

"Sunday morning all residents have returned home and cleaned their houses from the mud left over from the flood. Along with the high rainfall that has fallen, we ask residents to remain alert and alert and evacuate immediately if the river water discharge increases," he said.
Of the two floods, he said, in Karangtengah District it was quite severe because not only did it inundate the village, the flood also caused the connecting bridge between villages to be damaged but two-wheeled vehicles could still be passed.
