Kaesang Instructs PSI Cadres To Guard KPU Recapitulation Related To Legislative Elections

Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep instructed his party cadres to oversee the recapitulation of the vote by the General Election Commission (KPU) regarding the results of the 2024 Legislative Member Election (Pileg).

"For the DPR RI to return again, I instruct all of my friends to always guard and oversee the voting process because it returns again, the recapitulation from the KPU has not been completed and we must respect the voices of the people," said Kaesang as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 16.

Nevertheless, Kaesang believes PSI will achieve positive results for the provincial and district/city level DPRD legislative elections. He is confident that his party will reap higher votes than the previous election.

"We have also seen the results for provincial and district/city level DPRDs, where God willing, the results are quite good, the increase is around 400 percent," he said.

In addition, Kaesang thanked all PSI cadres during the election process. "I want administrators, cadres, legislative candidates, sympathizers who have worked hard for 3.5 months with us who have always been enthusiastic about promoting PSI to the community," he said.

Meanwhile, PSI Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees Grace Natalie admitted that she was optimistic that her party would break the parliamentary threshold, even though PSI's quick count did not exceed 4 percent.

"We are still optimistic that PSI will pass the parliamentary needs of 4 percent towards Senayan, considering that there is an internal survey that we conducted before approaching the election, even PSI votes have reached more than 4 percent," he said.

According to Grace, an internal survey stated that PSI had experienced a positive trend in the last half of the year. Therefore, Grace appealed to PSI cadres and the public to continue to oversee the recapitulation of real vote count in the field.

"Moreover, there are unusual findings regarding the high number of invalid votes," he said.

PSI also opened an investigative post for cadres and the public who found evidence of fraud in vote counting.

The post was opened online via the WhatstApp number 082310878606 or 082310878604 or 082310878624.
