Bogor KPU Files Disbursement Of Compensation For KPPS Dies
The General Election Commission (KPU) of Bogor Regency, West Java, has proposed disbursement of compensation for members of the Voting Organizing Group (KPPS) who died while carrying out their duties.
Chairman of the Bogor Regency KPU Muhammad Adi Kurnia revealed that his party is currently still waiting for the heirs of the KPPS family who are preparing the disbursement requirements file.
"For compensation, the application file is being prepared by the heirs," Adi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 16.
He explained that the heirs of the KPPS members will only receive compensation after 40 working days after the submission is made. The amount of compensation to be received is IDR 36 million according to KPU Decree Number 59 of 2023.
"There are already provisions, because the budget from the Indonesian KPU can be 40 days before the victim's family receives it," he said.

Learning from the 2019 election where many KPPS officers died, the Indonesian KPU issued KPU Decree Number 59 of 2023 which regulates the provision of compensation for KPPS officers who died or were injured while on duty.
In addition to providing compensation for death, the Indonesian KPU also provided compensation of Rp. 16 million for seriously injured victims, Rp. 30 million for permanent defects, Rp. 10 million for funeral expenses, and Rp. 8 million for moderately injured victims.
From the data collected, currently there are three members of the KPPS in Bogor Regency who died after serving at the polling station (TPS) in the 2024 General Election.
