Manahan Train Drops Due To Trampled Trucks, KAI Apologizes For Disturbed Travel

JAKARTA - The accident involving the Manahan Railway Locomotive (79F) of the Solo Balapan-Gambir connection with a truck occurred at Km 261+2 plots of roads between the Resilience-Ciledug Station. As a result of the accident, the locomotive fell.

Public Relations Manager of Daop 3 Cirebon, Rokhmad Makin Zainul said KAI apologized for the disruption of train travel operations. He also confirmed that there were no passengers who were victims as a result of the incident.

"PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon apologizes for the disruption of train operations Manahan connection to Solo Balapan-Gambir Station due to the impact of trucking on JPL not being registered and the downstream route was not maintained, to be precise Km 261+2 plots of roads between the Resilience-Ciledug station," he said in an official statement, Thursday, February 15.

The incident caused 79F Manahan train locomotive to be damaged and plummeted. There were no casualties in the incident," he continued.

Rokhmad said that for the time being other trains that will pass on the plots of the road can go through the upstream route until the 79F Manahan train locomotive can be evacuated.

Meanwhile, he continued, for the Manahan train series that did not experience a drop, they were pulled to the Resilience Station with a helping locomotive and immediately departed from the station using a replacement locomotive after checking the series by officers.

"PT KAI Daop 3 Cirebon deeply regrets this incident, it is very dangerous for safety and security together, passengers, officers and road users," he explained.

KAI urges road users to be orderly and obey the rules at level crossings so that in the future these events do not happen again because they are very high risk of safety.

Rokhmad also reminded that violations at level crossings and roads are traffic violations and can be dealt with by the authorities in accordance with applicable laws.

This is regulated in Law No. 23 of 2007 concerning Railways Article 124 states the obligation of road users which reads "At the intersection of a plot between the railway and road lines, road users must prioritize train travel.

Also Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation Article 114 and the sanctions are contained in Article 296 with the following sound:

At a level crossing between the railway and road lines, vehicle drivers are required:

a) Stop when the signal sounds, the railroad doorstop has started to close, and/or there are other signs,

b) Prioritizing trains, and

c) Providing the main rights to vehicles that first cross the rails.
