Organizers Of The 2024 Election Don't Try To Change The Recapitulation Of Votes, The Threat Is A 2-year Criminal
JAKARTA - The DKI Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) reminded that 2024 election organizers who change the recapitulation of votes can be subject to criminal sanctions.
"Based on Article 551 of Law No. 7 of 2017 concerning Elections, KPU members, provincial, district/city KPUs, sub-district election committees (PPK), and or voting committees (PPS) which intentionally resulted in missing or changing news of the recapitulation of vote count results, will be subject to two-year criminal sanctions (imprisonment) and a fine of Rp. 24 million," said DKI Jakarta Bawaslu Violation Management Division Coordinator Benny Sabdo in Jakarta, Thursday 15 February, confiscated by Antara.
Then, he continued, sanctions could also be imposed on Article 505 of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning KPU members at the provincial, city and district levels, PPK to PPS who committed negligence which resulted in the loss or change of news on the recapitulation of vote count results can also be subject to one year imprisonment and a fine of IDR 12 million.
He emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu is intensifying the supervision of vote recapitulation in order to prevent fraud during the 2024 General Election.
"Bawaslu DKI is still monitoring the recapitulation of votes inherently," he added.
From these regulations, firmly there should be no manipulation of the recapitulation of votes for both the presidential election (pilpres) and the legislative election (pileg).
The DKI Jakarta Bawaslu is ready to become a bulwark for the sovereignty of the people in order to ensure that the people's voices cannot be rigged. Therefore, the DKI Bawaslu will continue to be on guard until the recapitulation is complete.
"If there are allegations of fraud, please let the public report to the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu," he explained.

In addition, he added that community participation is needed in supervising the vote recapitulation process in stages at the sub-district level, district/city KPU to the province (DKI).
"This is a manifestation of the commitment of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu as the owner of the enforcement authority in order to uphold election justice," he said.
The public can report or submit initial information regarding alleged violations through the provincial WhatsApp (WA) Center Bawaslu and Bawaslu services for DKI Jakarta districts/cities.
Viral on social media X, differences in vote acquisition data were found on the KPU website with one of the polling stations in Cakung, East Jakarta (Jaktim) on Thursday, February 15.
