Muhammadiyah Urges Parties To Object To The Results Of The Presidential Election To Take The Constitutional Path
JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) appealed to the parties who objected to the results of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) to respond to it by taking the constitutional route.
"If there are parties who object to the election results, they should resolve it through the path of the Constitutional Court (MK) and not take mass mobilization methods that have the potential to trigger violence and horizontal conflicts," said PP Muhammadiyah Chairman Prof Haedar Nashir in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 14.
Haedar said that all parties should maintain a conducive situation while maintaining mutual respect and tolerance.
Furthermore, he said, the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates (candidates) won and their supporters should not be too proud and euphoric.
"For the losers, they should have a big spirit and be relieved to accept the election results," he said.
Haedar also appealed to all parties, especially political parties and legislative candidates, as well as presidential and vice-presidential candidates and their supporters, to be patient waiting for the final election results to be officially delivered by the General Elections Commission (KPU).
He also appealed to all parties not to rush to conclude the election results based on the quick count results submitted by survey institutions.

"We appreciate the people who have participated and exercise their voting rights with full responsibility and order at each polling station," said Prof Haedar Nashir.
