Heru Urges Residents To Maintain Harmony Until Election Contestation Is Complete

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono appealed to Jakarta residents to always maintain harmony and order until the 2024 election contestation is complete.

"Once again, let's maintain security, the harmony of Jakarta residents in the implementation of this five-year democratic party so that it can run smoothly, safely and orderly," said Heru after using his voting rights at TPS 55, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 14.

Heru said that Jakarta residents must face the 2024 General Election with a smile and understand the difference in choice.

According to Heru, the most important thing is that people are not included in groups that do not choose or become part of the white group (golput).

"In Jakarta, we face a democratic party with a smile. Of course it is natural that in the democratic party there are differences in choice. But, once again, let's maintain the security and harmony of Jakarta residents in the implementation of the 2024 General Election," said Heru.

Previously, Heru reminded residents not to let the general election event cause divisions towards national unity and integrity.

"Let us love Indonesia as a unitary country, citizens can always be harmonious, even though they choose different ones, but we are one nation, one homeland that we must uphold," said Heru.

According to Heru, this voting is one of the obligations of the community in carrying out their duties as citizens.

The 2024 election includes the presidential and vice presidential elections, members of the DPR RI, members of the DPD RI, members of the provincial DPRD, and members of the district/city DPRD with a national voter list (DPT) of 204,807,222 voters.
