Police Confiscate 1.2 Kilograms Of Methamphetamine Worth IDR 1.6 Billion In Jambi

JAMBI - The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Jambi Police confiscated 1.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp1.6 billion which was revealed for one week since early February 2024.

Deputy Director of the Narcotics Directorate of the Jambi Police AKBP Andi M Ichsan in Jambi, Tuesday, said 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine was confiscated from three suspects.

Apart from methamphetamine, the police also confiscated 520 tablets containing methamphetamine.

Andi explained that the disclosure of this case began with two police reports that entered in early February 2024.

All methamphetamine and tablets were confiscated by officers from three suspects with the initials RS, HR and DM.

Andi said that if one gram of crystal methamphetamine can be used for five people, the life saved is 6,206 people and if one tablet can be used for one person, then the life saved is 520 people.

"So the total life saved is 6,726 people," he also said.

Then, if one gram of crystal methamphetamine gets an economic value of Rp. 1.3 million, then the total value of the evidence of methamphetamine is economically Rp. 1.61 billion. Furthermore, if one tablet gets an economic value of Rp. 250 thousand, the total evidence is economically worth Rp. 130 million.

For their actions, the suspects were subject to Article 114 paragraph (2), Article 112 paragraph (2) and/or Article 111 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with the threat of death and life imprisonment.
