Komnas HAM Reminds Election Organizers To Maintain Integrity
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) conveyed several appeals to the ranks of election organizers, one of which is to prioritize professionalism and integrity in ensuring citizens' voting rights.
"To all ranks of election organizers, to prioritize professionalism and integrity in ensuring the fulfillment of the right to vote for all citizens, especially the right to vote for marginal and vulnerable groups," said Komnas HAM Chairman Atnike Nova Sigiro as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 13.
Furthermore, Komnas HAM appealed that all election organizers, from the central level to the polling station, must work with full integrity, imparity, and transparency to ensure the purity of the election results.
"Komnas HAM underlines that vote manipulation is a form of violation of citizens' civil and political rights," said Atnike.

He reminded all state officials, state administrators, and state officials to take responsibility according to their respective mandates and jointly ensure that the implementation of elections takes place in a luber, jurdil, and in accordance with human rights principles.
"Komnas HAM emphasizes that various actions of abuse of authority, such as partiality, mobilization or intimidation, to win one of the election participants is contrary to the principles of equality and justice," he said.
Next, state administrators and state apparatus are required to guarantee the freedom of opinion and expression of every citizen as guaranteed in the 1945 Constitution as a form of implementation of civilized democracy.
Finally, Komnas HAM appealed to state officials to ensure that the implementation of the 2024 General Election runs in a neutral and participatory manner to ensure the fulfillment of human rights in the implementation of public participation.
