Commission VII Of The House Of Representatives Considers The Increase In BRIN's Budget Important For Research Development In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR Ribka Tjiptaning Proletariyati said Commission VII DPR must fight for an increase in budget for the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). "The budget is also very small, it must be fought for by Commission VII," said Ribka in a short video, as monitored through the Parliament TVR YouTube channel in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 13, which was confiscated by Antara., from what is not clear, from what is underground (can be developed) to making an airplane (can be done). That's the great thing about BRIN," he said.

Previously in 2023, BRIN's total budget reached Rp6.5 trillion. However, there are only around Rp2.2 trillion of the total budget allocated for national research. This amount is considered the lowest budget in the history of scientific and technological development in Indonesia, as stated by a member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto.

"For this year we have proposed a budget to LPDP, the budget value is close to 700 billion," said Agus when delivering his remarks at the Launching of 2024 Research and Innovation Funding, at the BJ Habibie Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 6.
