Jenson Button Stumbled On Ford Bronco 1970 Sales Fraud Scandal
JAKARTA - Former Formula 1 world champion or F1 Jenson Button made a report in January 2022 when announcing he would auction off the results of the restoration of the Ford Bronco 1970.
This car auction runs through the Collecting Cars page and is ultimately able to sell for 130,000 pounds, equivalent to the current IDR 2.55 billion exchange rate.
But two years later after the auction, Jenson Button is now reported to court for cheating on which the car at auction turned out to be not his. Whereas previously, Button said that he had owned the car for four years.
Reporting from The Sun, February 12, Leo Eccels, 45, who bought the Bronco, has filed a lawsuit claiming that Button is "not a legal owner". He has evidence that the car was owned by his then girlfriend who is now Button's wife, Britty Ward.
Vehicles, which runs a gaming company in Gloucestershire, claims to have paid Premium for believing the car belongs to Button, and he wants Button to return the money.
Documents filed at Los Angeles County Court, US accused Button and his wife of fraud, forgery, and breach of contract.
"No date has yet been set for the full trial, but there is a case management hearing to be held in the coming weeks," explained lawyer Ethan Brown, speaking on behalf of his client.
"The bottom line is the claim that the car at the time it was sold, not Mr. Button but belonged to his girlfriend at the time, and the payments made were much greater than the actual value because it was understood that the car was owned by Mr. Button, which our clients claimed were not. right," he added.
