Erick Thohir Ensures Bulog Rice Is Safe To Face Ramadan And Eid
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir ensured that the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) stock controlled by Perum Bulog was sufficient to meet the needs during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in April.
Bulog rice stock currently has 1.2 million tons and then there is still 500,000 tons of stock on the way, Erick while reviewing the price of Bulog rice in modern shopping centers in the Klender area, East Jakarta, Monday, February 12.
In addition, Erick said that there is still a quota for assignments for import procurement from the government to Perum Bulog.
"So the amount will be stronger for the distribution needs to maintain the stability of rice prices in the community," he explained.
Erick said Perum Bukog had also distributed 220,000 tons of Stableized Supply rice and Food Price (SPHP) from early 2024 and starting today will disburse another 250,000 tons.
"The market will be flooded with an additional 250,000 tons of SPHP rice from Bulog, so people don't need to worry about this rice supply," said Erick.

Erick said that with the efforts and several programs carried out by the government through Bulog such as the distribution of Rice Food Assistance and the distribution of SPHP rice, the government is optimistic that it can reduce price fluctuations caused by the domestic harvest cycle and world geopolitical conditions that have caused world rice prices to increase.
Meanwhile, President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurthi said that the government's assignment of rice imports would be managed properly by Bulog to maintain rice price stability.
"This rice import permit to Bulog is valid throughout the year so we will manage it well so as not to affect farmers' prices during the main harvest and also maintain price stability at the consumer level," said Bayu.
