IPW Matter Ends, Reporter Removes Report
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya said the investigation process of the alleged defamation case involving the head of the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Investigation Division Joseph Erwiantoro had been stopped. This is because the reporter in the case decided to withdraw his report.
"The reporter has revoked the reported party," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, February 25.
With the withdrawal of the report, the status of the suspect carried by Joseph Erwiantoro will be legally canceled. But later on, you have to go through a case title process first.
"Withdraw all of them (suspect status). All of them will definitely be SP3. We will hold them later," he said.
Yusri also explained that this report was withdrawn after investigators carried out the direction of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, to prioritize mediation in handling cases with an ITE element.
So, with this mediation, the reporting party decided to withdraw the report and chose to make peace with the reported party.
"Last night, the investigator and the reported have been facilitated by the investigator to conduct mediation because in accordance with the police chief's circular, we put forward justice restoration by promoting persuasion and mediation," he said.
Previously reported, Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) asked the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to remove the Director of Special Crimes (Dirkrimsus) of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Auliansyah Lubis.
IPW assesses that Kombes Auliansyah Lubis did not carry out the orders of the National Police Chief regarding the handling of the ITE Law. Because the head of the IPW Investigation Division Joseph Erwiantoro was summoned to undergo examination as a suspect in the ITE case.
