Distribution Of Election Logistics In Papua, KPU Admits There Is One Area Of Natural Constraints

PAPUA - Chairman of the Papua Province General Election Commission (KPU) Stevemen conveyed that the distribution of logistics for the 2024 General Election in Papua began today.

Today has started distribution. It has started shipping. In Jayapua Regency, Supiori Regency, Waropen Regency, Biak Numgot Regency, Keerom Regency. Others are still in preparation," Steve told VOI, Sunday, February 11.

He admits that there are still areas that cannot be sent today. Because of the limitations of logistics delivery providers in the area.

"Only 1 Sarmi Regency has no provider yet, we are still looking for it," he said

He said there were four districts in Maberamo Raya that were forced to distribute logistics through the air. Meanwhile, there are 21 polling stations (TPS) in the four districts.

"One polling station costs around Rp150 million. Going there also costs a lot," he said.

Regarding security in the implementation of the 2024 General Election, said Stave, his party does not coordinate with the local police. The goal is to prevent something unwanted from happening.

"It's been in collaboration with the KPU chairman with the regional police so there's no problem. The police are ready to backup," he said.
