Overturned Longboat In Muara Omauga Timika, 2 Missing Persons

TIMIKA - Timika Search and Rescue Office (SAR), Central Papua reported a longboat loaded with three passengers, overturned in Muara Omauga.

The Daily Executor of the Timika SAR Office, Charles Y. Batlajery, said that his party received reports of the longboat Doble engine 40 PK and 50 PK capsized on Wednesday, February 7.

"We received a report from Mr. Ansar, who is a relative of the victim of the long boat, from three new victims who were found," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 9.

According to Charles, the longboat from Poumako to Mansari capsized in Muara Omauga after the engine died due to being hit by the waves.

"As a result of the impact of the waves, the long boat engine died and capsized, due to the incident one passenger on behalf of Agus, aged 42 years survived," he said.

Two other passengers are still being searched by the Timika SAR Team, namely Wawan aged 37 years and Semi 24 years.

"Until the report was received by the officers guarding the Timika SAR Office, they did not know the fate of the two victims," he said again.
