I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Arrest Fraudsters Under The Guise Of Massaging
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Denpasar arrested a recidivist massager with the initials AND (29) because of his involvement in cases of fraud and embezzlement.
Head of Public Relations of the Ngurah Rai Airport Police, Ipda Nyoman Darsana in Badung, Thursday said the man from Takalar, South Sulawesi was arrested at Balangan Beach, South Kuta Badung for allegedly deceiving the victim's cellphone named Margaret BC (32).
An Oppo A54 mobile phone was taken away by the perpetrator so that the victim of MBC, a woman who lives on Jalan Pudak Sari Kuta Badung, suffered a loss of Rp. 3.5 million.
The Opsnal Team of the 'Garuda Bhuana' Satreskrim Polres Ngurah Rai made the arrest of a man who works as a mobile massager on Tuesday (6/7).
Darsana said the arrest of the perpetrator was following up on reports or complaints from victims (MBC) to the Airport Police as in the Police Report Number: LPB/02/I/2024/SPKT/POLRES KWS BDR I GST NGR RAI/POLDA BALI on January 23, 2024.
In the victim's report, said Darsana, the embezzlement incident occurred on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at around 10:00 WITA, the victim met the perpetrator AND on the Sepeh Kuta Badung Beach.
"At that time, the perpetrator intended to borrow the victim's cellphone with the excuse of contacting his parents to disburse his inheritance," said Darsana, quoted by Antara.
This perpetrator also promised the victim would be invited to travel abroad. For this reason, the victim trusted him, because previously they had known each other and often met at the Sekeh Kuta Beach.
"Because they trust each other, the victim also gave his cellphone to be borrowed by the perpetrator and even changed the sim card," said Nyoman Darsana.
After the next three days, the perpetrator was never seen again at the Sekeh Beach and was repeatedly contacted via his cellphone and was never active or could not be contacted. The victim was annoyed that he had been deceived by the perpetrators so he reported it to the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police.

The Head of Public Relations also explained that apart from taking away the victim's cellphone, the perpetrator, who did not have a permanent residence, since January 2024 he has been sleeping in a Bale Bengong, Sekeh Kuta Beach.
The perpetrator also borrowed money from other victims' friends ranging from Rp. 200,000 to Rp. 1 million.
Thus, the total loss of the victim (Margaret BC) plus a sum of money belonging to the victim's friends reached Rp. 6 million.
Currently, the perpetrators have been detained at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police, in the case of fraud and embezzlement as stated in Article 378 of the Criminal Code and or Article 372 of the Criminal Code.
It is also known that previously in 2015 the perpetrator was involved in a fraud case and was then handled by the Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police and received a sentence from the Denpasar District Court with a prison sentence of 1 year and 3 months.
