Netflix Gives USD 500 Million Budget For Content Production In South Korea

JAKARTA - Netflix will add more budget for content production in South Korea. At the Netflix show See What's Next Korea 2021 being held today, February 25, they will double their budget for production.

According to Kim Minyoung, VP of Content Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, the streaming service gained 3.8 million subscribers in South Korea by the end of 2020. Movies and series from South Korea are very popular on Netflix.

At the same event, Netflix also announced their first two original films from South Korea, Carter and Moral Sense.

Carter, directed by Jung Byung-Gil, tells of a man who has lost his memory and wakes up in a motel room. She is looking for a way to save a kidnapped child.

In addition, there is Park Hyun-jin's Moral Sense, known as the film Like For Likes. This film tells the story of two workers where a man with an unusual sexual appetite and a woman who knows the secret.
