AMIN National Team Responds To Allegations Of Police Redam Academic Petitions Criticize Jokowi: TNI And Polri Must Be Neutral
JAKARTA - The Anies-Muhaimin National Winning Team (Timnas AMIN) responded to pressure by alleged police to a number of rectors on campus who petitioned academics to criticize President Joko Widodo's administration.
AMIN National Team Spokesman Iwan Tarigan said the police should be neutral in the 2024 election and comply with the police law and oath.
"The neutrality of the TNI and Polri help ensure that elections take place without military or police intervention that could interfere with the election process. This is important to maintain election justice and integrity," Iwan told VOI, Wednesday, February 7.
As state institutions, said Iwan TNI and Polri must stand above national interests, not above the interests of certain political parties or groups.
"It is important to maintain the neutrality of the TNI and Polri which will ultimately have a significant impact on the quality of democracy in Indonesia," said Iwan.
