Shallow Water Becomes Afgan's Introductor Towards Second English Album

JAKARTA - Afgan once released his first English full album titled Wallflower on April 9, 2021. He will continue his work by releasing his second English album entitled Sonder.

Before Sonder was actually introduced to the public, the 34-year-old singer released a single titled Shallow Water, a song that will later become one of the material on the new album.

The lyrics of Shallow Water are filled with sadness, which Afgan wrote after discussions with two other songwriters and a music producer working together for the album Sonder.

"That day, for some reason I felt Gloomy and sad. Then, after discussing with James Essien (songwriter), Adam Knight (songwriter), and Maestro (music producer), we agreed to write the lyrics according to my mood, and create this emotional ballad song entitled Shallow Water," Afgan said in his statement, Tuesday, February 6.

Shallow Water lyrics are a metaphor for a person's emotional burden in the form of past trauma and inner wounds that are difficult to heal in relationships. These things can prevent a person from starting a new relationship.

"Personally, I went through what I told the song. The emotional burden comes when we start to feel deep feelings for someone in a new relationship," Afgan said.

So, you have to make peace with all your emotional burdens so that no one is disappointed. Slowly, don't make big decisions suddenly," he continued.

For information, Shallow Water can already be heard on various digital music platforms. In addition, video music is also presented with many subliminal messages in it.

Afgan wants people who enjoy the video clip to imagine and have diverse interpretations of the things that are presented.
