TKN Affirms DKPP Decision Will Not Disturb Prabowo-Gibran's Status As A Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - The Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) responded to the decision of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) which advised KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari to violate the code of ethics because he accepted the registration of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
Deputy Chairperson of TKN Prabowo-Gibran, Habiburokhman emphasized that the DKPP decision would not interfere with Gibran's status as vice presidential candidate number 2 accompanying Prabowo Subianto.
"This DKPP decision has nothing to do with the legal standing of the Prabowo-Gibran candidate pair. Because the Prabowo-Gibran candidate pair is not the reported party, nor is it reported in this case. Even the DKPP decision did not mention that Prabowo-Gibran registration was invalid," said Habiburokhman during a press conference at the TKN Media Center in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Monday, February 5.
According to Habiburokhman, the DKPP decision to impose sanctions on the KPU chairman is a form of technical, not substantive issues.
"The point is that based on the Prabowo-Gibran constitution, it is entitled to register, in fact, if they are not given the opportunity to register, there will be constitutional violations. If at that time the KPU did not accept their registration, it would be more severe for sanctions," he said.

Habiburokhman explained that the DKPP decision was not final. However, he said, TKN would still respect what DKPP decided.
"We respect the DKPP decision as an institution regulated in the Election Law. However, it needs to be understood that the DKPP decision as regulated in Article 458 of the Election Law is no longer final, because it can become an object of the Administrative Court as decided by the Constitutional Court Decision Number 32/PUU-XIX/2021," he concluded.
