Goodbye! Knightscope K5 Robot Patrol Period In New York Ends
JAKARTA Four months ago, the New York Police Department (NYPD) introduced a patrol robot called Knightscope K5. The robot was assigned to tour the Times Square subway station.
During its tenure, this 400-pound security robot only monitors passengers without being able to help directly. The reason is, this robot is designed to have no hands and legs and its body is oval like eggs.
Despite its limited movement, this robot is very useful for everything to keep passengers safe. Unfortunately, Knightscope K5's tenure has ended so that this security robot has been removed from the subway station.
K5's Knightscope has completed its trial on the NYC subway system, a spokeswoman for the toilet told the New York Times. The spokesman did not say whether they were planning to sign Knightscope K5 back or not.
Actually, there are some people who are worried about the use of this security robot. They are afraid that the robot will be added to a sophisticated facial recognition system or surveillance tool that could interfere with the privacy of passengers.

For now, they don't have to worry about privacy security issues becauseRATEs have stopped using the K5 robot. It's not yet known whether this contract expires for a while or forever, but the robot's performance has been recognized.
This robot was first used by Myr at Manhattan subway station. Since its inception, this robot has no facial recognition system, but has four cameras to record videos without audio.
Although it cannot help directly, this robot can be used to ask for help. On the body of the K5 robot, there is a button that can be pressed to send emergency messages. When pressed, the robot will give a noisy sound of danger.
