Indonesian Red Cross Sends Cleaning Packages For Gaza Refugees In Cairo
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) team for the Gaza Humanitarian Mission distributed cleaning packages or hygiene kits to a number of Gaza refugees, Palestinians who are currently displaced in Cairo, Egypt.
"One of the urgent needs for Gaza refugees today is the hygiene kits to maintain their daily cleanliness and health," said PMI Team Leader for the Humanitarian Mission of Gaza Arifin Muh Hadi by telephone from Cairo on Saturday, February 3.
According to Arifin, who is currently in Egypt, Gaza refugees in Egypt no longer have any money at all to buy cleaning, bathing, washing and toilet needs. Therefore PMI took the initiative to buy cleaning packages from the local market in Cairo to be distributed to Gaza refugees.
This assistance is part of protection to ensure everyone has access to their needs and encourages them to adopt a clean and healthy lifestyle. The cleaning packages contain towels, brushes, toothpaste, sandals, bath soap, washing soap, shampoo, tissue and others.
The distribution of this hygiene package was carried out by the PMI team by directly providing the assistance to Gaza refugees in Egypt. In addition, his party also distributed this assistance to trauma patients who were being treated in hospital.
Contacted separately, the Head of the PMI Headquarters Disaster Management Division, Ridwan M Sobri, who also joined the PMI team in Cairo, said that according to data from the Egyptian Red Crescent, the number of refugees from Gaza who entered Egypt to date is more than 9,000 people.
Traumatized patients, fractures, and serious injuries who received treatment from a number of hospitals in Cairo were more than 450 people. The condition of oppression carried out by Israel's continuing Zionist soldiers in Gaza caused tremendous suffering and prompted increased health vulnerability.
