East Flores Regency Government Urges Residents To Be Alert And Prevent The Spread Of African Babi Fever

KUPANG - An appeal to residents to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) disease or African swine fever is now being intensively promoted by the East Flores Regency Government, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

This appeal increases supervision of the sale and traffic of pigs.

"Increase supervision of the sale and traffic of pigs and processed pork products between districts, sub-districts, sub-districts, and villages both by land, sea, and air through official and unofficial roads," said East Flores Regent Alexander Rihi in an official appeal letter received in Kupang, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 3.

The appeal was issued in connection with the incident of the death of a pig due to ASF disease in a neighboring district, namely Sikka Regency.

In addition, he also prohibits the distribution or sale of pork originating from sick or dead pigs due to disease.

Furthermore, there are restrictions on the traffic of people, goods, and vehicles to the cage area.

He also advised residents to pay attention to the cleanliness of pigs, cages, and home appliances.
