This Is The Reason Why Parents Need To Pay More Attention To Children's Dental Health
TEMANGGUNG - Parents must pay attention to the cleanliness and health of their children's teeth, even though the milk teeth are only temporary.
The above suggestion was put forward by a dentist from the Temanggung District General Hospital (RSUD) Sekar Tadji.
" Gigi damage is the most common problem for children," said Sekar Tadji at a joint discussion on the health care of children's teeth organized by the Indonesian Dental and Mouth Therapy Association (PTGMI) in Temanggung, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, February 3.
Early loss of milk teeth in children will affect the growth and development of the face, jawbone and tooth oclusion, which means loss of structure balance, efficiency of facial evaporation and harmony.
"In general, loss of teeth in children occurs because of cavities that are not treated or can also be due to trauma," he said.
To motivate dental treatment, he said, children need to be invited to visit a dentist. So that children are not afraid when examining their teeth. Because each child has different treatment during dental and oral examinations.
"Parents only check their teeth when they are afraid, especially children. That's why we routinely provide education so that children are not afraid when examining their teeth to doctors and health centers," he said.

Chairman of the DPD PTGMI Korwil Jateng Dharma Wahyu Edhy said that apart from nurses and dentists, parents, especially mothers, have an important role in maintaining the health of their teeth and mouths.
"In this discussion, we focus on the role of nurses and dentists, how they provide education on the importance of caring for the health of the teeth and mouth of children aged zero to 18 years," he said.
In addition, mothers need to be given basic information about the period and growth phase of milk teeth and fixed teeth, as well as various dental and oral diseases, especially caries (pocketed teeth).
He said, taking care of the health of children's teeth from an early age is very important because children are developing. Given the health of the teeth is closely related to the growth and development of children, both physically and psychologically.
"Not only that, providing education to children to brush their teeth at least twice a day, namely in the morning after breakfast and the night before bed is very important. Besides that, children also need to be told what food and drinks can damage their teeth," he said.
