Thailand Masters 2024: Three Indonesian Representatives Left In The Semifinals

Six Indonesian representatives competed in the quarter-finals of Thailand Masters 2024 at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok, Friday, February 2, 2024.

There are only three representatives who qualify for the semifinals. One of the top four tickets is definitely obtained from mixed doubles numbers.

The problem is, the battle between Indonesians took place in the quarter-finals between Dejan Ferdiansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.

In that match, Rehan/Lisa succeeded in defeating their compatriots with a tight battle of two straight sets with a score of 22-20 and 21-17.

Another semifinal place was obtained by the men's doubles Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri. They managed to beat the Taipei Chinese pair, Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan, with a dramatic battle.

Bagas/Fikri were left behind in the first set with a score of 15-21. This Indonesian doubles then rose and was far ahead in the second set with 21-9.

A tense match occurred in the determination set. Bagas/Fikri were far behind 12-18. However, beyond expectations they got up and won nine points in a row, closing the win 21-18.

Indonesia's final semifinal ticket comes from the women's doubles sector through Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi.

They qualified for the top four with a hard time against India's doubles, Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand Pullela.

Febriana/Amalia underwent a rubber game fight. The Indonesian women's doubles secured the first game with 21-12.

Treesa/Gayatri then managed to take the second set with a 21-17 advantage.

In the last game, the two pairs fought fiercely. Febriana/Amalia came out victorious after closing the game with a score of 23-21.

Meanwhile, two other Indonesian representatives died in the quarter-finals of Thailand Masters 2024.

Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum lost badly against the host pair, Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard. They lost two straight games with a score of 9-21 and 7-21.

Then, the Indonesian women's singles, Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, followed Jesita/Febi lifting the suitcase in the quarter-finals.

He fell in the hands of India's singles, Ashmita Chaliha, through a tight three-set match with a score of 14-21, 21-19, and 13-21.

Furthermore, the three Indonesian representatives who qualify for the semifinals will compete on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Bagas/Fikri will face the fifth seed from China, He Ji Ting/Ren Xiang Yu.

Then, Febriana/Amalia, who will be the fourth seed in Thailand Masters 2024, will meet the second seeded host women's doubles, beating Jesita/Febi, namely Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard.

Finally, Rehan/Lisa will also meet the host mixed doubles and first seed Thailand Masters 2024, Dechapol Pavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
