Vice President Receives Audience Of The Minister Of Energy And UAE Infrastructure

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin received an audience with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or the United Arab Emirates (PEA) Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei at the Vice Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

Based on a press release received in Jakarta, at the meeting the two figures discussed various efforts to increase cooperation in various fields, ranging from education, investment, to religious moderation.

The Vice President expressed his appreciation for the increase in cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, especially the realization of the construction of Mohamed Bin Zayed College for Future Studies in Yogyakarta which was laid on the first stone on January 31, 2024.

"This achievement is a tangible manifestation of the collaboration between Mohamed Bin Zayed University for Humanities (MBZUH) and the University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) Yogyakarta to promote the spirit of peace and humanity," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 2.

The vice president hopes that cooperation is not only limited to the scope of universities, but also to the pesantren. Thus, Islamic boarding schools, which number thousands in Indonesia, can become the centers of a new civilization in the future.

"We, Indonesia, have enormous human resources, which need to be developed and improved. Therefore, we want to build human resources that have great abilities, so that we can compete in the world arena," he said.

Then in the investment sector, the Vice President expressed his appreciation for increasing investment cooperation between Indonesia and PEA, especially in the mining sector.

He conveyed that Indonesia is indeed rich in natural resources, so it requires large investment and high technology to process it.

"Once again I would like to express my gratitude for the cooperation, especially in the field of mining processing investment, and we are indeed blessed with Allah SWT with as many mines, there are gas, oil, nickel, lithium, and various other mines," he said.

In addition to the mining sector, on this occasion the Vice President also conveyed the high potential for the development of the Islamic economic and financial sector in Indonesia. For this reason, he also invited PEA investors not to hesitate to invest in the industrial sector and Islamic banking in the country.

"I ask Your Excellency for help to encourage PEA technical agencies to take advantage of the potential of the halal industry and the Islamic bank market in Indonesia," he asked.

The Vice President and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of PEA also discussed issues of religious moderation and world peace.

The Vice President conveyed that Indonesia welcomes the efforts of the PEA Government in promoting the spirit of peace and humanity through the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, where this year, Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah were elected as recipients of the award.

"My hope is that this achievement will become a funnel to promote moderation and religious tolerance which is the principle of the two countries to build peace and friendship among human beings," said the Vice President.

"God willing, I will be present to represent the President to witness Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah receive this very prestigious award (next week in Abu Dhabi)," he added.

Not only that, the Vice President also appreciated the PEA which annually holds the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum as an effort to equalize the perceptions of countries in building world peace.

"We see that this cooperation is not only maintained but also must be improved," he said.

In line with the Vice President, PEA Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei revealed that Mohamed Bin Zayed College for Future Studies in Yogyakarta will be an important part of supporting the development of Indonesian human resources.

Suhail also conveyed that various collaborations between PEA and Indonesia, especially in the field of investment, are currently continuing to run well.

Our investment is related to energy, especially new renewable energy and green energy, and related to the halal industry continues to grow. Studies continue to be carried out to improve all of that," he said.

When giving a press statement after the meeting, Suhail explained that one of the priorities of PEA investment in Indonesia is the fulfillment of basic needs to maintain food security, including the development of halal food products.

In addition, according to Suhail, PEA investment priorities in Indonesia are also still targeting aspects of infrastructure fulfillment, including seeing the potential for investment in the capital city of the archipelago.
