The General Elections Commission (KPU) revealed that as many as 394 million spectators watched the 2024 Election debate, starting from the first debate between the presidential candidates to the fourth debate involving inter-cawapres.

"Based on the data we have up to debate, four debates, if we look at it from the ninth side of the TV, the TV station we have is recorded at around 394 million total unduplicated audience coverage," said KPU member August Mellaz as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 2.

On average, the 2024 election debate can reach more than 94 million viewers.

"If then we divide it into four, it's only been four times the debate. Of course, we'll wait for the latest data. That's the average every time the debate can reach more than 94 million viewers," he said.

According to Mellaz, the number of viewers could be achieved due to various program packaging on television stations from pre-debate, debate, to post-debate.

"And then post, including the pre-debate part, then during the debate, there were various dialogues on various television stations. It also discusses things that are qualitative in nature, including quantitative ones. For example, frequent dictions," he said.

Therefore, the KPU appreciates the Indonesian people who actively see the 2024 Election debate which has taken place four times.

"And the hope is that this will make the purpose of the campaign through this debate method an important instrument for voters to ensure that this is indeed the qualification of each pair of candidates, both the president and vice president, who are given space in the implementation of the debate to explain their vision, mission, and program," he said.

Mellaz also said that this achievement shows that the presidential/vice-presidential candidate debate is interesting

"The enthusiasm cannot be ignored. The holding of the 2024 presidential and vice presidential election debate through the debate method is very interesting," said Mellaz.
