This Is Nepal EV, Hyundai's Weapon To Compete In The Cheap Electric Vehicle Segment In Europe

Hyundai is testing one of Nepal's small EVs in Europe. In fact, Nepal is a model that is currently only sold specifically in the country of ginseng.

However, the manufacturer seems to intend to present this model in various regions. What's more, they were testing the model during the winter in Scandinavia.

Thus, this is proof that the crossover-style city car is completing the homologation process needed for the European market, as reported by Autocar, Friday, February 2.

The news of the presence and trial came after France's Hyundai boss, Lionel French Keogh, told Auto Moto that Casper would arrive at the European market by the end of 2024.

Unlike in the home market itself, which offers 1.0 liter gasoline engines, Hyundai will only present an electric-driven tuna for the blue continent region.

It is estimated that Hyundai Nepal EV will be offered greater power than Dacia Spring, one of Europe's cheapest electric vehicles, which generates 62 dk of power and a distance of up to 230 km.

To shorten development time, manufacturers seem to be using an electric motorbike from Kia Ray EV, and will carry the same platform. It's not surprising that these two brands like to share technology with their cars, such as Kia EV6 which carries a similar architecture to Hyundai Ioniq 5 considering that Kia's parent company is Hyundai Motor Company.

Well, if Nepal will use an electric motorbike from Ray EV, then the power can reach 84 dk and the powertrain will be embedded in the front with a battery of 35.2 kWh which produces 204 km of range.

With competitive specifications, Nepal EV will be priced at under 20,000 euros, equivalent to IDR 342.4 million. Apart from Dacia Spring, this car will also compete directly with the latest low-cost Citroen e-C3 electric car at a price of 19,900 euros or Ro330.4 million.
