Pew Research Survey: Adults Still Choose YouTube Over TikTok
JAKARTA - The Pew Research Center, a research institute from the United States (US), released the results of a survey related to social media that most adults use in the US. In the survey, YouTube still beat TikTok.
Although TikTok users continue to increase massively, the survey shows that YouTube is in the top rankings. Of the 5,733 people who responded from May to September last year, 83 percent of respondents admitted that they had and were still using YouTube.
In the next position, Facebook became the second-largest platform to use with 68 percent, while Instagram was ranked third with 47 percent of users, and Pinterest was fourth with 35 percent of users.
TikTok, a video platform known for its vertical format, actually occupies fifth place. Adults in the US who use this platform only reach 33 percent of users, 3 percent more than the LinkedIn platform which is used for professional or business purposes.

Although the number of TikTok users is not yet close to the number of YouTube users, the number of users of this platform jumped compared to two years ago. At that time, only 21 percent of adults who used TikTok.
With an increase of 12 percent, TikTok is the platform with the most increase this year. The average other platform, according to the findings of Pew Research, is less than 10 percent. In fact, the increase in Reddit users was only 4 percent.
