Wow! The Number Of Indonesian Crypto Investors Reaches 18.5 Million People
JAKARTA - The latest data from the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA), the number of crypto investors in Indonesia in 2023 has now reached 18.51 million, an increase of 9.8 percent since the beginning of the year.
In addition, despite the decline in transactions from 2022 which amounted to IDR 306.4 trillion, to IDR 149.25 trillion in 2023, this industry still shows strong economic potential.
"Indonesia has great potential in the digital asset ecosystem. Crypto asset trading can be one of the government's strategies to accelerate, create, and encourage efforts to develop Indonesia's digital economy," said Head of the CoFTRA Commodity Futures Development and Development Bureau CoFTRA, Tirta Karma Senjaya at the Indonesia Crypto Outlook 2024 event organized by Tokocrypto, Wednesday, January 31.
In addition, Tirta also emphasized that the policies that have been made by CoFTRA reflect the commitment of the Indonesian government in integrating digital asset innovations with a solid regulatory order.
"The goal is not only to create a safe and reliable trade environment, but also to encourage innovation and economic growth," added Tirta.
