The Renovation Of The Maguwoharjo Stadium In DIY Is Targeted To Be Completed For One Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is currently renovating the Maguwoharjo Stadium located in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY).

The PUPR Ministry has signed a rehabilitation and renovation work package for the stadium on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.

"Support the progress of Indonesian football, the Ministry of PUPR for the renovation of the Maguwoharjo Stadium," reads a statement quoted from the official Instagram page @kemenpupr, Saturday, January 27.

The plan is for the stadium rehabilitation and renovation work to include changing the supporter seat to a single seat, improving match operational facilities, installing seats for disabilities and VVIP and improving standard FIFA facilities.

Then, the addition of stairs for media access and guest audiences, toilet repairs and mechanical system work, Electrical, Plumping (MEP).

The rehabilitation and renovation of the 11,000 square meters stadium was carried out in a Multi Years Contract (MYC) for the 2023-2024 Fiscal Year (TA) with a period of 300 calendar days.

In existing conditions, Maguwoharjo Stadium has a standing stands with a capacity of up to 35,000 spectators and is planned to be 20,594 with the concept of a single seat.

Later, the rehabilitation and renovation of the Maguwoharjo Stadium is expected to create high-quality sports facilities and infrastructure in accordance with FIFA standards for the convenience of players and spectators during the match.

"This renovation is also expected to make this stadium a place to exercise for the people of Sleman Regency. So, it can form a healthy lifestyle," he added.
