PLN Checks KWh Meter Period For Customer Safety
JAKARTA - In order to maintain safety, PLN carried out a kWh meter examination belonging to PLN which was placed in a customer's house. PLN's concern is carried out through the Electricity Usage Control (P2TL) program where PLN ensures that the limiting and gauge tools at kWh meter work normally so that consumer protection is maintained properly.
Lasiran, General Manager of PLN Main Distribution Unit Jakarta Raya said PLN customers do not need to worry and hesitate if any officers come to the house to check kWh meter in the P2TL program.
"If there are P2TL officers, please ask for their assignment letter and supervise it, the officer checks only up to kWh meter, not into the house," said Lasiran.
Lasiran emphasized that P2TL is a preventive effort to ensure that the electrical energy distributed to customers has a barrier and a gauge. The goal is that the incoming electrical energy is measured according to the subscription power. If the electrical energy entering the house is not measurable and excessive, it has the potential to be in danger such as a short circuit or even a fire.
P2TL is carried out regularly to customers according to the set schedule. If the customer is caught committing a violation in the P2TL, especially those related to the kWh meter, then the kWh meter is further tested in the tera lab. Testing is carried out at the PLN office. However, customers are allowed to ask for tests outside the PLN. In addition, customers are also allowed to bring the companion to witness lab tests.

If customers object to the test results, the customer has the right to object to PLN. Furthermore, PLN will facilitate objection meetings attended by customers, PLN, and representatives of the Directorate General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
"PLN is open to customers, if there is anything that needs to be confirmed, please submit it to PLN," said Lasiran.
Furthermore, Lasiran appealed to customers to be orderly in using electricity. Use it according to the subscription power and according to its designation. Customers are also asked to use official electricity, not to tamper with kWh meter yourself, and not to take electricity directly from the poles.
If you see anomalous and potential damage to kWh meter, customers can call PLN through PLN Mobile for inspection. Before buying and renting a house, customers can also contact PLN to ensure that the electricity is free from arrears and ensure that kWh meter is in good condition, there are no indications of fraud in the use of electricity.
"So it needs to be underlined here that the P2TL is to maintain the safety of PLN customers, ensure that the kWh meter is normal so that customers avoid danger," concluded Lasiran.
