Israeli Genocide Verdict in Gaza Hearing will be Announced on Friday
JAKARTA - The International Court of Justice will issue a decision regarding the alleged genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, Palestine on Friday, January 26.
The International Court of Justice said that the decision on the petition submitted by South Africa (South Africa) would be held at the Peace Palace, City of The Hague, Netherlands.
As quoted by Anadolu, reported by ANTARA, Friday 25 January, the decision will be delivered by the chairman of the panel of the International Court of Justice.
Previously, on December 29, 2023, South Africa filed a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice requesting that Israel be tried regarding its military attack on the Gaza Strip, Palestine. South Africa considers Israel to have violated the Genocide Convention.
South Africa asked the International Court to grant nine emergency requests regarding the case. The nine requests are that Israel must immediately stop its military operations in Gaza, take reasonable steps to prevent genocide against Palestinians, ensure that refugees return to their homes and have access to humanitarian assistance, such as food, water, fuel, medical supplies. and cleanliness, shelter, and clothing.

Israel was also asked to take important steps to prosecute people involved in the genocide and prepare evidence of the genocide. South Africa urges the International Court to make a decision as soon as possible because of the urgency of the situation.
After the preliminary hearing on January 11-12, the International Court held deliberations after studying the evidence and arguments submitted by the parties to the case.
