Today, Jokowi Jamu Visits President Tanzania At Bogor Palace

BOGOR - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a visit from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Samia Suhulu Hassan at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Thursday, January 25.

The agenda for the meeting began with a ceremony to welcome President Samia and his entourage in the front yard of the Presidential Palace at around 10.30 WIB by listening to the national anthem of each country.

The activity continued with a photo session and the signing of guest books and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), and continued with the Joint Press Statement agenda at the Presidential Palace Lotus Building.

Furthermore, each Head of State introduced each other to guests who were present at the event.

Reported by the ANTARA News Agency, the bilateral meeting agenda was closed with tree planting in the back yard of the Bogor Presidential Palace.

President Samia's visit was a reply to President Jokowi's state visit to Tanzania in August 2023.

The press release of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the meeting of the two Heads of State was related to the follow-up of several potential cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, oil and gas, minerals, energy, and blue economy.

President Samia brought three ministers and 131 business delegates engaged in multi-sectors.

The business delegates are scheduled to attend the Tanzania-Indonesia Business and Investment Forum today, located at the Mulia Hotel. This forum is the result of collaboration with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

Also accompanying President Jokowi in the meeting were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia.
